The three stars of the green inventor awards have been announced. At the Green Living Show held at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibiton Location, the mayor, deputy mayor and CityNews meteorologist announced the stars of this renowned award on April 23. Every of them were given prestigious Green Toronto Award and they will share a ,000 prize.
Supporting the environment is the primary focus of these young scientists, not the prize cash. There had been several extremely fascinating solutions and improvements put forward by all the finalists. Since the thought was to give real solutions, most of the projects were cost-effective and quickly applicable, so one day you may see them applied also in your neighbourhood, or in your own home.
The prize winners are:
Olivier Trescases, PhD and Chris Lea, with Green Gym: An exercise gym that is espressly built to use energy and send it to the grid.
Sarah Lazarovic and her concept GreenHouseTO; Not just for architects but for ordinary individuals comes a web and mobile renovation application that is for Toronto buildings.
Robert Kori Golding, for his concept My Green City: A Facebook and iPhone cross-platform game/application. You get points for completing real-life green tasks (planting a tree, decreasing waste) and spend them on your virtual town.
Green is often top!
Community Projects Award, Energy Conservation Award, Environmental Awareness Award and 6 far more presentations, had been given out: as well as these prizes. There was award money of ,000 to every single one of the finalists which they shared with a charity of their own picking.
